This is a mission statement for Duke Street Surgery.
Duke Street Surgery is a General Practice Partnership open to all patients living within our practice boundary in Barrow in Furness and the surrounding areas. be found on the practice
We work in partnership with our patients and our Patient Participation Group (PPG) to provide medical care to all our patients.
We are a General Medical Practice (GMS) offering Primary Care services for the diagnosis and prevention of disease. We help patients manage their health and prevent illness. Our Practice Nurses help manage patients with any chronic diseases such as Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, CHD, Hypertension and Heart Failure. Our GP’s assess, diagnose, treat and manage illnesses.
The practice carries out screening and promotes general health and wellbeing. The GP’s act as a patient’s advocate, supporting and representing a patient’s best interest to ensure the care they receive is appropriate and is the best care for the individual. Our GP’s work closely with other healthcare providers and services, they may arrange hospital admissions and refer to other services and specialists; they link with secondary and community services, taking advice and sharing information where appropriate.
We aim to improve health, well-being for all our patients we care for.
To work together with our patients, staff, local and national services to provide the very best care possible, while working within local and national governance, guidance and regulations.
